The Children’s Ministry of Bethel Church affirms the home as the center of Biblical guidance. Parents are the most important people in a child’s life, and learning about God starts in the home. We want to partner with you in your child’s spiritual education and communicate the content and topics being taught during our Sunday school time together.

Scripture Memory

The children will be working on memorizing a few short verses throughout the year. They will receive a take home sheet with that month’s scripture from their teacher to work on at home. Please ask their teacher if you would like a copy.

Class Time and Registration

All children will begin church in the sanctuary with their families. We felt this allows the children as well as our teachers the opportunity to remain connected to the congregation and be involved in worship prior to Sunday school classes. Children will be dismissed from the church service around 11am and Sunday school will end at 12 noon.

Please register your preschool and kindergarten children for Sunday school prior to the church service at the table in the foyer. You will receive a pager if you have a preschooler. You will be paged for bathroom trips and if any concerns arise. Please sign out and pick up your preschool and kindergarten children from their classroom in the basement of the west wing.

Sunday School Curriculum & Class Structure

Preschool (age 3+) to Grade 6

This year Preschool to Grade 6 children will continue ‘Digging Into the Bible’ published by Group Canada. Digging Into the Bible in One Year takes kids on a whirlwind journey from Genesis to Revelation. Kids experience a relationship with God through the eyes of ordinary Bible people. Kids will discover that they’re a lot like people God has always loved and worked through. Preschool to Grade 2 meet downstairs in the West wing. Grade 3 to 6 meet upstairs in the West wing.

God’ Disciples (Grade 7-9)

The class structure is a combination of classroom study and casual conversation. They meet in the youth area above the kitchen in the East wing. This year, we will be using Right Now Media to study a video series from Tim Mackie, “Read Scripture”. We want to help you to read through the Bible without getting lost or giving up. This series has a video for every book of the Bible that outlines its literary design and main ideas, showing you how it fits into the entire biblical story.
